What happens at a BBQ Battle?
Teams register for the event via info@ausbbq.com.au and can enter the categories of beef, lamb, pork ribs, pulled pork and chef’s choice. Teams set up on the Saturday and cook their BBQ ‘low and slow’ overnight. By lunchtime Sunday, unable to resist the smells from the banks of the Yarriambiack Creek any longer, people can sample this amazing barbecue food while a range of other family-friendly activities are happening. These will include live music, children’s activities and beer and wine tasting. It will be a market atmosphere with food and drink stalls, plus other barbecue-inspired product stalls. At the same time, judges will be scrutinising the barbecues of each team to select the BBQ competition winners.
